Body of man recovered, confirm police, after helicopter and emergency services seen at coast near Brighton

Photos were submitted to this newspaper this morning (Wednesday, September 3) showing emergency services at the coast in Saltdean.

The images show a police car and an ambulance at the seafront, with high waves hitting the coastal wall. They also show a coastguard helicopter in the air.

A police spokesperson confirmed at 11.30am: “At 8.23am on Wednesday (3 September) police received a report of a body in the sea at Saltdean. HM Coastguard attended and the body of a man was recovered. Enquiries are taking place. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
