Dramatic footage captures car bursting into flames in Eastbourne

The video shows a car being driven with plumes of smoke flowing from the back of the vehicle.

The driver of the car then exits the vehicle and attempts to push the car back into the middle of the road, further away from other vehicles and houses.

A few minutes later, the car is completely engulfed in flames and smoke is billowing from the vehicle.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed firefighters were called to reports of a car fire in Sancroft Road at 6.03pm on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for ESFRS said: “Firefighters used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, and a thermal imaging camera to put the fire out.

“There are no reports of casualties and the fire is being treated as accidental.”
