A number of emergency service teams are understood to be at the scene, on Sunday afternoon (August 30) – including Sussex Police and Coastguard crews.
Multiple lifeboats have also been involved in the response, with a Coastguard helicopter understood to be assisting.
Sussex Police officers, including detectives, are at the scene.
The incident is understood to have been ongoing since around 6am.
