Fire crews tackle Petworth pub cellar fire
Four fire engines were called to The Star Pub, Market Square, on Saturday afternoon.
Shoppers were asked to avoid the area, whilst nearby homes and shops were urged to keep their doors and windows closed.
Firefighters found smoke coming from a fire in the cellar. The crews spent nearly three hours at the scene, wearing breathing apparatus to put out the fire using a hose reel.
The Star dates back to the 16th Century, and has recently welcomed new landlords.
