Emergency services called to two-car crash near Ninfield

Emergency services were called to a two-car crash near Ninfield yesterday (Thursday, July 7).

A spokesman from Sussex Police said officers, along with two East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews, were called to the junction of the A271 and A269 between Ninfield and Boreham Street to reports of a collision at around 10.45pm.

The crash involved a silver Subaru Forester, driven by a 52-year-old man from Brighton, and a blue Vauxhall Astra, driven by a 68-year-old man from Catsfield.

The Subaru rolled onto its nearside as a result of the impact. The driver was unhurt but his passenger, a 38-year-old woman from Brighton, sustained minor injuries. So too did the Vauxhall driver. Neither went to hospital.

The junction was closed to traffic until 12.34am on Friday (July 8) while the incident was dealt with.
