With a background in art, and the history of art and architecture, Emma succeeds in fusing classical design with contemporary compositions.

Past projects include rooftop terraces, where space is critical; courtyard gardens and the creation of practical living areas, and larger country gardens with pockets of interest nestling sensitively in the surrounding landscape.

She set herself a challenge to better her bronze medal which she won at the RHS Malvern Show this year and said: "I was competing against some of the best and most established garden designers in the country and so to scoop a silver gilt, just short of gold, really was beyond my wildest dreams. I shall now have to raise the bar and come to Chelsea and try to win a gold."
