Enable Me Project youth club launched in Littlehampton

A YOUTH club for disabled children and young people has been opened by the Enable Me Project, in Littlehampton.

The club will be funded for three years by West Sussex County Council.

Enable Me started in 2005 and aims to raise disability awareness in the community and improve the lives of disabled people by providing a range of services.

County council member for children and families Peter Evans said: “The youth club isn’t just aimed at disabled children, but also their siblings. It’s a chance for them to have fun and try different activities.”

Nik Demetriades, Enable Me CEO, said: “This new youth club is something local people have told us will make a real difference in Littlehampton.

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with the county council, the youth support and development service and the Short Breaks team to make it happen over the next three years.”

Activities

Youth club manager Craig Rathbone said: “The most important thing is this youth club will be a safe and welcoming environment for disabled children and young people to come to every week so they can relax, have fun and be themselves.”
