At the end of last week, we were planning to make silage, along with many others I suspect. Torrential rain put a stop to that!

Another deluge at Plaistow is now beginning to soften the clay at Plaistow, and if we have much more rain we might not be able to travel with silage on the fields.

This happened last year and is quite common, especially if it has been dry in April and early May; but last year I had quite a few of my paddocks shut for sileage, and if I didn't get them cut in time, the cows would have run short of grazing three weeks later.
