Lavant farm intruder causes 'severe damage' to sown crops

An intruder has broken into a Lavant farm and driven 'round and round' several fields, causing 'severe damage' to sown crops.

The incident at a farm in Chilgrove Road, Lavant, Chichester was reported to police last Wednesday, according to the latest Sussex Countrywatch Newsletter.

An intruder forcefully broke into the farm by smashing a padlock to a field gate, according to the newsletter.

"The vehicle was then driven into the field where it has been driving round and round it, and it then repeated the process in several other fields before departing having caused severe damage to the sown crops," the newsletter stated.
