Quiz energy experts at Dunsfold Park solar farm

The event will be held from 10am until 4pm, at the solar farm near Cranleigh.

The aim of the event is to give visitors the opportunity to ask any questions they have about solar energy to the people building the projects.

It also seeks to demonstrate how responsibly developed solar farms are improving the local environment and how solar energy is making the UK less reliant on imported fossil fuels.

Lightsource Renewable Energy Limited installed 8,500 ground level solar panels at Dunsfold aerodrome.

During working hours it powers businesses at Dunsfold Park and, at other times the excess energy is fed back into the National Grid. It has the capacity to power around 670 households.

Lightsource CEO Nick Boyle said: “Our solar scheme at Dunsfold Park is a prime example of how ‘home-grown’ renewable energy can be put to good commercial use for the benefit of the local community. There remains huge opportunity in the UK for solar energy and examples of successful schemes like Dunsfold Park showcase this fact perfectly.”
