Etchingham

We were treated to a bright sunny morning last Sunday as a large number of village residents gathered outside the Church at the War Memorial to remember those who lost their lives in the first and second World wars, as well as all those who have paid the ultimate price in all the conflicts that our armed forces have been involved in since the end of WW2. During the Service at the memorial wreaths were laid by the Etchingham Branch of the Royal British Legion, the Parish Council and the Etchingham Military and aviation Preservation Group, and the Brownies laid a cross for each of those named on the memorial. The majority of those gathered then moved into the Church for the rest of the service. If for any reason you were unable to attend you might like to see a few pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ttelyob/sets/72157631981214912

I take photos at many of the village events and upload them to my photostream at Flickr, if you want to see pictures of past events go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/ttelyob and select a set from those on the right-hand side.

Get information for this column to me as soon as possible, if you have a diary of events planned for the year let me have the dates and I will put in a list of village events for the year so that people can put the dates in their diaries. There are several ways to get your info to me, but email is preferred because there is less chance of errors during copying. I need information by 10pm on Monday to be sure it will be in time for inclusion, I can sometimes add extra items on Tuesday morning, but this cannot be guaranteed. Just a little reminder, I get plenty of information about events that are taking place, but I get very little follow up information, after your event try and remember to send me brief account of how successful your event was, it can be as simple as a thank you to those that attended and how much money was raised etc. You can deliver to 2 Park Farm Close, telephone 01580 819532 or 07941 786244 or email [email protected]
