Event will explore how music therapycan improve lives

Rye based music therapy service The Music Well has joined forces with the Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health to hold a special event at Rye Studio School on Saturday July 19.

Called ‘Music for Wellbeing and Health’, the event is an opportunity to learn about the important work the Music Well carries out and explore further the potential advantages of music therapy for all ages.

Guest speakers include Dr Maria Varvarigou, from Canterbury Christ Church University.

It runs at the Studio School, at the Grove, from 11am - 3pm.

Liz Butt, who established the Music Well project in Rye, said: “It will be an interesting and informative day.”

The cost to attend is a £10 contribution including lunch, with live music and refreshments.

The Music Well is also holding its annual garden party on Saturday July 26 at Little Orchard House, West Street Rye from 11am - 4 pm.

There will be live music including The Music Well Trio, a duo, drumming and ukeleles.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
