Ex-straw-dinary spectacle in town

SPIDERMAN scales the walls of Battle Police Station, the Swedish Chef is cooking up a storm outside the Bull Inn whilst Batman’s arch enemy, The Joker, takes tea outside The Lounge.

It can only mean one thing - the Battle Scarecrow Festival is back.

The fifth annual festival started on Monday, with  the theme of Comic Characters.

Other imaginative creations dotted around the town include Dennis the Menace, Danger Mouse, the Pink Panther, Popeye, Charlie Chaplin and Peppa Pig.

The festival will run until July 20.

Judging will take place shortly.

Prizes will be presented at this year’s Battle In Bloom Awards on August 1.
