EXPLOSION DEATH - FUNERAL TAKES PLACE

THE funeral took place today of fire service cameraman Brian Wembridge, who died in an explosion at a fireworks factory on December 3.

Crowds of people lined the streets of Crowborough to watch the coffin, carried on a fire appliance, make its way from the fire station to the All Saints' Church.

Members of the Fire and Rescue Service stood to attention as the coffin was carried into the church.

The service was attended by more than 500 family, friends and colleagues and a private family cremation was held later.

On the green opposite the church local people gathered to pay their respects to a man who served, and ultimately gave his life, for his community.
