Extra building wanted for Fontwell lorry

Planning permission to build an extra building which would be used for lorry storage, plus plant and machinery within a workshop at Greater Glebe in Brittens Lane has been submitted to Arun District Council.

The building will be put up where scaffolding used to be stored.

A design statement prepared by Stride & Son of Chichester explained the structure would be a simple rectangular building clad in profile sheeting and have roller shutter door.

A side door is also proposed to allow staff access.

The new building would also be well away from neighbouring properties and would be shielded to the North by hedging.

No changes to access to the site are proposed, but the application is a departure from the development plan.
