Falmer

THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE RAMP: An email has come through to the Chairman of the Falmer Parish Council from Highways England that some funds have been obtained to undertake a draft design for some changes to the existing bus stop lay-by, but no date has yet been mentioned. Everyone will, I am sure, welcome this news, and hope it will all come right one day.

CONCERT: The concert on Saturday in St Laurence’s was a real delight, each member of the trio played solos, the first played by Jasmine Selby had such an oriental sound and I had never heard a flute played like that before, Richard Goodman had a piano solo playing Morning from the Peer Gynt Suite and Karen Rash played pieces by Telemann, one of my favourite composers. Their trio playing too was great, especially loved was The Little Red Monkey, such fun.

VISIT: I have just returned from my yearly week’s sojourn with my friends when every year, for the last twenty years, we find a different venue to stay and explore. This year we went to Ichenor, not far for us to travel; we found some lovely walks and the weather was just perfect. Each year our walks get shorter and yet we are still out all day.

BEES: Coming home I heard from my husband that the students with the Professor had been out counting the bees on the ivy blooms in the hedgerow, and looking out of my kitchen window I can see little delicate bags tied to the blooms. I do hope they come back so that I can find out why they are there.
