Families start the day in style at Wick school

PUPILS and their families tucked into a healthy start to the day as White Meadows Primary School, Wick, marked National Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

Staff arrived early to organise a delicious menu, including porridge, a variety of cereals, fruit and orange juice for the whole school, to highlight the importance of the first meal of the day.

Headteacher Luisa Gould said, “We all lead such busy lives, breakfast is often forgotten. However, for children in particular, it is a vital part of the day; research has shown a good breakfast improves concentration, behaviour and learning.

“We were thrilled with the number of parents who came and we had many positive comments.”
