But on Saturday, the family firm branched out and marked its first venture into the world of kitchen and bathroom show rooms.

Rustington Parish Council’s chairman Graham Tyler cut the ribbon to officially open the new store, based in Churchill Parade.

Speaking to the Gazette, Mr Tyler said: “We are so pleased to welcome a family business to the village.

“It’s the first time that they have opened up a show room because they felt the need to let people know what is on offer.

“It’s going to be a real asset to the village and it’s great to have it here.”

The business is run by Paul who is helped by his two sons, Matt and Josh, and his daughter Emma – all of whom were there to mark the big day.

Paul said about 300 people went through the doors on Saturday, adding: “I’m still pretty nervous about it all but at the same time really excited. We have just got to go for it.

“It’s not like we’re the new kids on the block. We’ve been around for 25 years now.”

Paul added it was great working with his children but that they had a strict agreement to keep work and family life separate.

The showroom is open Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm. For details, call either 0800 9992626 or 01903 715796.
