Archers is one of only three butchers in East Sussex to feature in the final 10 and the only business representing the Hastings and Rother area.

Archers of Westfield was set up 77 years ago and has remained in the same family for nearly eight decades.

Dawn Archer, whose husband Jeremy owns the business, said: “It was started by my husband’s grandfather and we have two sons working in the shop so we are into the fourth generation now.”

Over the years Archers of Westfield has built up a good reputation and welcomes customers from far and wide.

The voting is open until October 14, when the top 10 will be whittled down to a top three.

The winner will be announced on January 31, 2013.
