Fatal crash man named

A MAN who died when his Mercedes careered off the road and smashed through a hedge and into a trailer has been named.

John Powell, 65, from High Salvington, was travelling south on the A24 near North Farm, south of Washington, when the accident took place shortly before 7pm last Wednesday.

It is believed Mr Powell lost control of the car after suffering a heart attack at the wheel. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
