Felpham skippers jump to it for charity

More than 400 pupils, staff and governors at a Felpham school jumped to their latest fundraising event.

Everyone involved with Downview Primary School took part in a mass skip to kickstart their sponsored Jump Off at 9am on Tuesday.

The skippers had been practising hard for six weeks to ensure they could take part in the activity for the British Heart Foundation. It was inspired by the fact a few of the school’s children have heart conditions. Some £2,000 is likely to have been raised.

Fiona McKenzie, the school’s PE co-ordinator said: “Preparing for the Jump Off has given our children a reason to be more active and have lots of fun.

“The playground is just buzzing with this skipping craze.”
