As well as the stunning arrangements there were paintings on show by local artists including children from Icklesham Primary School.

Visitors enjoyed ploughman’s lunches and cream trees and were able to watch demonstrations of spinning, patchwork and lace making.

A Songs of Praise service on Sunday morning allowed the congregation to sing their favourite hymns among the flowers.

Icklesham correspondent Laurie Bowman said: “Everybody who came enjoyed the Flower Festival. Congratulations to all those who contributed to its success including the Flower Club, the Church Flower Ladies, the Art Group and The Church Market team and many others who took part.”
