Festival of Flowers at Christchurch

Christchurch celebrates its 21st annual Festival of Flowers over bank holiday weekend, May 23-25.

This year the festival is themed around the Dana song All Kinds Of Everything which was a Eurovision Song contest winner in 1970.

Christchurch treasurer Barry Turnwell has contacted the singer to tell her of the event at the church in Springfield Road.

The Christchurch flower festival is renowned locally for its stunning displays which delight visitors. To find out why call in between 10-4.30pm on the Saturday and Monday, or from 2-4.30pm on Sunday.

Lunches will be served from 12-2pm but delicious cream teas, refreshments and stalls will also be available.

Barry commented: "As in previous years, the Festival is being arranged by the members of our church Ladies Supper Club and we look forward to a beautiful selection of flowers and displays. Funds raised at the Festival will be donated to The Sara Lee Trust, the Coeliac Society and to church projects.

"We are delighted that this year we will again be able to make use of the adjacent Centenary House, the Church and Community Centre linked to Christchurch, so there will be even more to see.

"All are most welcome - do please come along."
