Plans to improve health care services will be discussed at the autumn meeting of the governing body that oversees the work of the Horsham and Mid Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The event, which will be held in public, is an opportunity for you to find out more about the clinical commissioning group, what its current priorities and plans for the future of local health services are, and to hold the group to account.

Topics for discussion at the meeting are: the performance of local hospitals and other NHS care services, stroke care, and care for hospital in-patients needing ongoing complex care or rehabilitation.

Governing Body members will be available 30 minutes before the start of the meeting to answer questions or queries from members of the public informally.

The Governing Body includes the Clinical Chair, Dr Minesh Patel who also works as a GP in East Grinstead, six clinical directors who are also local GPs, the CCG’s Chief Officer, Chief Finance Officer, two independent clinical representatives and two lay representatives.

Dr Patel said: “Our role as a clinical commissioning group is to ensure local NHS services meet the needs of our patients and our local community. Involving local people, GPs and other healthcare professionals in every stage of the process is vital to us being able to make that happen.”
