Fine Bunch Of Visitors

VISITORS flocked in their droves to the East Preston Horticultural Society's spring show at the Conservative Hall on Saturday.

On a beautiful spring day, the cream of the village's prize blooms, produce and cookery were on display, giving judges a tough time, indeed.

Treasurer Norman Brown said the day was very well attended and that, despite this year's spring flowers blooming so early, the exhibits were of an extremely high standard.

Joan Butterfill did herself proud as she not only won the coveted Kenyon Cup for the most points but also won the Len Park glass goblet for the best tulip.

Dee Chamberlain's culinary skills came up trumps, netting her the Spring Bowl for the most points in the cookery classes.

And it was Jocelyn Silk's best exhibit in the flower classes that won her the Spring Cup.
