Fire at caravan park in Ashington

Firefighters were called to a fire at a caravan park in Ashington yesterday (July 12).

Crews from Storrington and Horsham attended the incident in Billingshurst Road at around 1.15pm.

Two 2m by 1m storage containers along with a 2m by 2m Green House, a 6m high fence and an area of shrubbery were all severely damaged by the fire.

Heat from the blaze also damaged a window frame and some guttering of a nearby house.

The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus and two hose reels.
