Fire at Lancing Railway Station stops all trains to Worthing

A fire next to the railway line at Lancing has caused disruption on the tracks this evneing (January 8).

At around 4.45pm, Souther Rail said all services through Lancing to Worthing had been stopped as the emergency services dealt with a fire next to the track.

Travellers have been warned to expect delays or find alternative routes if heading towards Worthing.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance and, according to a tweet from Southern Rail, the line is expected to reopen soon.

In the meantime, tickets will be accepted on the following:

Brighton & Hove Buses between Brighton & Shoreham.

Stagecoach 700 bus services between Worthing, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Chichester, Havant & Portsmouth
