Fire closes part of A23 near Crawley

Part of the A23 is currently closed near Crawley because of a vehicle fire.

Sussex Roads Police report that the northbound carriageway at Pease Pottage is currently shut.

Police and a fire crew from Crawley are on the scene.

A fire has broken out in a car and a hedgerow is alight on the M23.

Police have closed off the road

Heavy traffic queues are forming and police are urging people to avoid the area if possible.
