Firefighter's fete raises over £2,500

Broad Oak Fire Station held a successful Summer Fete last July raising over £2,500 for the Firefighters Charity and St Michael's Hospice.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Watch Manager Chris Sands says the annual event attracts a good crowd. “A big thank you goes to everyone that helped and attended our Station Fete in July,” he said. “We are very well supported and thanks to the money raised, we are able donate £500 to St Michael’s Hospice, out of the £2,523 total.”

Bruni Llovet, Head of Marketing St Michael’s Hospice receive the cheque from the firefighters at their regular drill night. “It is so wonderful that our local community supports St Michael’s Hospice each and every day,” she said. “This is a regular event for Broad Oak and the villagers really look forward to it as it is always so well run and great fun.”
