Firefighters rescue two people after car in collision with Worthing bungalow

Two people were rescued from a vehicle which collided with a bungalow in Worthing.

Fire crews, paramedics and police officers were called to Palatine Road in Durrington around 10.45am today (Thursday, October 6).

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “Joint Fire Control sent two fire engines from Worthing and Littlehampton to the scene, as well as a heavy rescue tender from Worthing.

"Fire crews rescued two casualties from the vehicle using hydraulic rescue equipment, before leaving the scene at around 11.20am.”

Sussex Police officers attended to close the road, joined by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

A SECAmb spokesman confirmed that no one needed hospital treatment.
