Firefighters respond to truck on fire on A27 in Shoreham

Firefighters have tackled a skip lorry that caught fire on the A27 in Shoreham.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called at 1.30pm to reports of th elorry on fire on the A27 eastbound flyover in Shoreham.

“One crew from Shoreham Fire Station was mobilised to the scene and upon arrival used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire," said the spokesman.

"Crews remained at the scene using a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots, before booking away from the incident at 1.59pm.”
