Firefighters tackle straw blaze at Battle field

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called out to a field near London Road, Battle, after one hectare of land was ablaze.

At 5pm (September 12), one fire engine and a Land Rover were sent to the scene.

A fire service spokesman said it was believed straw had set alight.

The firefighters put out the blaze and left the scene at 5.30pm.
