Firework display at Pagham yacht club

The display, which took place between 8.45pm and 11pm, was supported by a roaring bonfire on the beach, as well as a sell-out bar and barbecue.

"By the end of the night the bar was empty and the food eaten," said Chris Page, vice-commodore of the club.

The event was staffed by volunteers from the yacht club and funded by the takings from the bar and barbecue, as well as a donation bucket that collected more than 700.

"The event was a great success. We were delighted that so many people attended," Mr Page added.
