Fishing for gold in Alexandra Park

This stunning gold coloured carp was discovered when a team of specialists were transferring fish from a small pond in Alexandra Park to a larger lake last week.

This picture was captured by local photographer Sid Saunders who said: “I came across two young men in a boat. They explained to me that the carp fish had outgrown this lake and were going to stock the larger fishing lakes in the park.”

Fishing lakes in the park have been improved to give easier access to disabled anglers.
