The building - Milton House in Milton Road - has been empty for around five years since the court service left and is now being converted into 28 one and two bedroom flats.

The first six one-bed properties have been released for pre-sale by developer Archie Cowan, of Handcross-based family firm Forix Property, through estate agents Mansell McTaggart and Marcus Grimes.

Guide prices start at £210,000.

Final completion of the new flats, near Haywards Heath Station and a new Waitrose supermarket which is being built there, is expected to take place this summer.

Archie Cowan said: “The development will provide 28 contemporary stylish one and two bedroom apartments with ample cycle storage and car parking.”
