Flood alerts along Hastings coastline

Two flood alerts are in place along the Hastings coastline with spray expected to affect the seafront and '˜flooding possible' today (Tuesday, February 28).

The Met Office has issued ‘be prepared’ warning from Warrior Square Gardens to Rock-a-Nore as well as from Marine Court to Glyne Gap.

High water is expected at 12.35am tomorrow (Wednesday), with estimates of it being 4.06m above ordnance datum, plus near gale force winds.

The flood alerts will remain in force for the subsequent high tide at 1.15am on Thursday, while tomorrow’s high tide at 12.55pm is not expected to cause any issues.
