Flood fairs in Bracklesham and Bognor Regis

RESIDENTS are being urged to get involved in new '˜flood fairs' to help protect their homes against water.

It is part of an Environment Agency campaign to prepare people for flooding on roads, as well as from the sea and nearby rivers.

The month-long drive was launched after heavy rain severely affected more than 500 homes on the south coast in June.

Now, several flood fairs are being held in the worst-affected areas to help homeowners and businesses defend their properties. They will be fronted by experts from West Sussex County Council, the fire and rescue service, Southern Water and the Environment Agency.

The first takes place tomorrow (Tuesday, October 23) on Bracklesham Bay’s Beach Avenue, and another will take place at the Regis Centre, in Bognor Regis, on Wednesday, November 7.
