Floral tributes to ‘wonderful’ and ‘special’ Don Lock

Mr Lock, 79, who lived in Worthing, died after being stabbed on the A24 on Thursday night. Yesterday, his family released a statement, which can be read in full by clicking here.
Mourners have begun leaving floral tributes close to the scene. A note from Maureen, his wife of 55 years, said: “I will love and miss you forever. My rock, my wonderful husband of 55 years. God bless you.” Another, from granddaughter Kirsty, said: “There are no words to express how I’m feeling. I have lost a very special grandad. My only grandad. I love you so much.”

A cycle helmet had been left in tribute, as well as a jersey accompanied by a note simply saying ‘God bless, Don’ – while a bouquet carried a note signed from Alan & Becky that read ‘Ride safe up there Don’.

Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a 34-year-old Worthing man on suspicion of murder.
