Flower Festival celebrates life of church

ST John’S Church at Westfield was filled with beautiful displays when it held a Flower Festival over the bank holiday weekend.

The theme of this year’s festival was ‘Not Just For Sunday’. Margaret Moss explained: “We wanted to show that the church is more than just Sunday services to the displays reflected all the other activities and groups that happen during the week.”

She added: “It was very well attended, thanks to the good weather, particularly on the Monday. People came from far afield and we had some very nice comments.

A special altar display marked Westfield Church’s recent joining together with Guestling Church.

Visitors to the Festival were able to enjoy home-made cakes and browse stalls selling plants and crafts.
