Football manager arrested for allegedly hitting player

A football manager has been arrested for allegedly hitting a player.

Ken McCreadie, manager of Hailsham Football Club, is alleged to have hit Eastbourne United AFC player Matt Jones after United won 2-1 against his side at a Boxing Day derby at the Beaconsfield, Hailsham.

Mr Jones, 19, claims he was hit in the face by Mr McCreadie.

A police spokesman said: 'A man has been bailed for six weeks pending further enquiries.'
