Formal identification of Shoreham Airshow victims begins

Formal identification of the victims in the Shoreham Air tragedy has started, the senior coroner for West Sussex has confirmed.

Penelope Schofield said recovery process on the A27 was almost complete.

She said: “We will now begin the formal process of identifying all the victims of this horrific tragedy.”

The full Interpol victim identification process will now take place.

Ms Schofield has met with the families to explain the process and once identification is complete then she will open inquests into these deaths.
