Four arrested after fleeing scene of serious head-on crash

Four people have been arrested after a head-on crash left a man with serious injuries in Hooe last night (Saturday, April 23).

Police were called shortly after 10.30pm to reports of a collision between two vehicles on the A259.

The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped in his car for almost two hours before being cut free and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the other vehicle crashed nearby and its occupants fled the scene. Police dogs and the police helicopter began searching nearby open land and four people were later arrested.

The road was closed for several hours while forensic evidence was recovered from the scene.
