Four arsons in under five hours for Littlehampton fire crews

LITTLEHAMPTON fire crews dealt with four arson attacks in under five hours on Sunday (April 24).

The first report was at 1.39am, when a garden fence in Giles Close, Yapton, was set alight, and then at 3.38am, they were called to a car park in Willow Brook, in Wick, where a banger racing car on a vehicle transporter had been torched.

The car was destroyed, and the transporter 20 per cent damaged by fire, heat and smoke.

The next call was to another car set alight, at the back of Arundel Road, Littlehampton, at 5.18am, and a motorbike, in a an alleyway off Gloucester Lane, Littlehampton, was later targeted, at about 5.50am.

A spokeswoman for West Sussex County Council confirmed that all four blazes had been started deliberately.

In March, 15 cars were destroyed in arson attacks in the Littlehampton and Wick areas.
