Free family events at Brighton Museum

Brighton Museum has announced a series of free events throughout the summer.

Free for the Festival takes place on Saturday, May 6, celebrating the start of Brighton Festival. The museum is set to come alive with pop up performances by Pitch Perfect, the best of Brighton and Hove young musical talent, poetry readings in the new Constable and Brighton exhibition, and magic lantern shows with stories in Museum Lab.

Happy Sussex Day on Saturday, June 17, will explore the rich heritage and culture of Sussex as part of the annual Sussex Day celebrations.

Dig It! on Saturday, July 15, will explore the archaeology, with special displays, demonstrations, hands-on activities and talks by experts.

And A Rainbow Museum, on Sunday, August 6, takes place as part of Brighton’s Pride weekend, looking at the hidden stories behind objects in the museum. There will also be a chance to visit the newly-opened Museum of Transology display and explore local LGBTQ history through five short films produced by Allsorts Youth Project.

Brighton and Hove residents enjoy free entry to Brighton Museum and half-price admission to the Royal Pavilion and Preston Manor at all times, with children going free, with proof of local residency.
