Friend to shave head for mum's terminal cancer fight

Charlotte Harris from Angmering told the Gazette last week that she had six months to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of bowel cancer last year.
She is also trying to raise £57,000 for potentially life-extending proton beam therapy which is not available on the NHS.

Amanda has raised almost £500 so far and has dyed her hair pink for the occasion. The 38-year-old said shaving her head was ‘nothing compared to what Charlotte is going through’: “Charlotte might not get this Christmas. This might be her last Mother’s Day, so let’s make it memorable.”
The head shave will take place at a fundraising event held on Mother’s Day, March 26, at Angmering Village Hall between 10am and 2pm.
Amanda met Charlotte six years ago when their children were both attending St Margaret’s Primary School in Angmering. She said she ‘burst into tears’ when she found out Charlotte had cancer: “I don’t know if I could be as brave as her; she has been holding it together so well.”
