Fund-raising friends shave their heads

A PAIR of fund-raising friends had their heads shaved bald last Thursday as April Fool's Day really lived up to its name.

Sally Warren, of Stevens Close, and Karen Carr, of First Avenue, will feel a touch colder in the coming weeks after losing their luxurious locks in mad-cap scheme to make money for MacMillan and Bexhill Hospital.

The newly shorn duo have already made close to 1000 for their chosen charities and hope to make even more.

Sally, 46, said: "It started off as a joke and the whole thing just escalated. It really did seem the appropriate thing to do on today of all days."

Karen, also 46, added: "The more we raise the happier we will be and hopefully it will be worth having this done."
