A GoFundMe fundraising page has been launched for 11-year-old Mason, from Chichester who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma.

Originally dismissed by doctors as “anxious”, Mason who had been experiencing pain in his leg, was later admitted to hospital in Southampton where medics found that a rare cancer had spread across his body.
He is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy, but doctors say that patients at this stage of the disease have only a 20% chance of survival.

His family are now doing everything possible to give him the best chance of beating the cancer, including setting up a GoFundMe page.
Mason’s aunt, Katrina Clear, told the Chichester Observer said: “He’s doing amazingly, he’s so strong. We don’t know yet if this chemo will work because the cancer has spread so rapidly.
"But even though it’s in his spine and bones, we are trying to keep him mobile and moving.
"We need to do the best we can to help him survive.”
Stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare and aggressive soft‑tissue cancer that begins in muscle and has already spread to distant parts of the body, such as the lungs, liver, bones or bone marrow.
Treatment is often complex, involving chemotherapy, radiotherapy and sometimes surgery.
On Sunday, July 19, Mason’s friends and family are holding a fundraising day from 2-6pm at TMG in Worthing, where there will be a bouncy castle, pony rides and a DJ.
