Fundraising sale succeeds despite rainy day

A BOOT sale in aid of the James Haggerty Memorial Fund managed to raise over £500 last week, despite being rained off after an hour and a half.

Jackie and Russell Haggerty lost their son earlier this year, when he succumbed to a rare heart condition known as ALCAPA aged 13 and a half.

They are now campaigning to buy heart equipment for the paediatric unit at The Conquest Hospital. Funds have already been raised through donations and the recent London Marathon.

A garden party, supported by Bexhill Lions Club, is being held on Saturday, June 27 to further support their cause.

232 Cooden Drive will hold stalls, refreshments and side shows from 10am-2pm. If threatened by rain, the party will move to Sunday.
