GALLERY: College's performing Arts extravaganza

Heathfield Community College's performing Arts extravaganza at Bateman's, Burwash, saw students re-enact the life and times of former owner, Rudyard Kipling.

The year 10 students were joined by year six storytellers from All Saints and St Richards Primary School in Old Heathfield.

More than 500 people watched and walked through the National Trust-owned grounds to see children performing music, drama and dance.

The project came about through a scheme called Culture Shared run by a government-funded arts organisation, Creative Partnerships which aims to get historic institutions working with schools and artists.

As well as the traditional performing arts films were shown, youngsters demonstrated their creative writing, ran a television news studio and produced art installations.
