Goring seafront assault: woman taken to hospital

A woman has been taken to hospital following an assault on Goring seafront, the ambulance service has said.

According to South East Coast Ambulance Service, paramedics were called to the seafront opposite Chelwood Avenue and next to Marine Drive, Goring, at just after 3.30pm today (June 25) following reports of the incident.

One ambulance crew was sent down to the area, where it became clear a woman had been assaulted, a spokesman said.

Her injuries included facial injuries.

She was treated at the scene, before being taken to hospital.

Sussex Police was also in attendance; the force has been approached for more information.

The seafront has been full of people today, looking to take advantage of the scorching weather.
